A local move is a logistics job
A local move looks simple: load a truck, drive across town, unload. In practice, the day depends on details that are easy to overlook until the crew arrives. How far the truck can park from the door. Whether there's a reserved elevator. Whether the couch fits down the stairwell. Whether everything is packed, or half of it is still in drawers. Every one of those changes how long the move takes, and on most local moves, time is what you pay for.
The best moves are planned with the mover ahead of time. A walk-through, in person or by video, lets the mover see what's going, spot awkward items and access problems, and give you an estimate that holds up on the day.
Local only
This site is about moves within a metro area: across town, to the next suburb, from an apartment to a house. Long-distance and interstate moves work differently, with different pricing and rules, and they're outside what we cover.
How the connection works
1. You ask for a callback and tell us where you're moving from and when. 2. We pass your request to one independent local moving company serving your area. We don't send it to a list of companies. 3. The moving company calls or texts you and arranges a walk-through. 4. The moving company gives you a written estimate directly. You decide whether to book.
We don't move anything: we don't operate trucks, employ crews or take a cut of your move. Read how it works for the details, and our moving-week checklist before the big day.
